About Lucy Casson
Lucy was born in Yorkshire and began her journey into casting in 2011 at London’s Finborough Theatre following an extensive career as a professional dancer.
She gained significant insight and experience by assisting three brilliant Casting Directors working on projects including Michael Grandage Company and Equus/TRSE/West End (with Anne McNulty), An American in Paris/West End and The Addams Family/UK Tour (with James Orange) and The Bay S1/ITV and Murdered By My Father/BBC (with Jenny Duffy).

Lucy was also part of the in house casting team at the Royal Shakespeare Company. An inspirational experience which motivated her to take on projects and become Casting Director in her own right.
Recent Casting Director credits include the UK & Ireland Tour of Hamilton; Newsies at Wembley Park Theatre, a new musical adaptation of A Knight’s Tale at Manchester Palace Theatre and the Olivier Nominated and UK Theatre Award Winning new production of Animal Farm at Leeds Playhouse/TRSE.
In her previous career as she performed in a diverse range of projects in the West End and Internationally. These ranged from classical ballet companies to plays, musical theatre and films working with renowned creatives including Susan Stroman, Rob Ashford, Anthony Van Laast, Jonathan Miller, Will Tuckett, Wayne McGregor and Joel Schumacher.
With over 25 years’ experience in the industry, Lucy brings her drive, knowledge and experience both on and off stage/screen (and most definitely her sense of humour) to every project.
